The number one question I’m always asked as we wind down a season is “Do you go to Florida in your off season?” I WISH!! The day we close the shop in October, we shift gears and start to prepare for the next season. I’m the only one in Chicago who thinks the winter goes too fast!
Opening Day, coming in just under 2 weeks, is Saturday, March 17th – YES, St. Patrick’s Day! We’ll be celebrating with our own version of a “pint” of Guinness. Irish Cream and Irish Coffee will also be in the opening rotation. With Easter so early this year, our season will be starting off fast.
Speaking of Easter, we’re sad to announce that after 17 years, we will NOT be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt this year. The event has grown to be just too big. Last year, we hand-packed over 5,000 eggs – and needed about 3,000 more. It’s become more than we can handle at the same time as we are ramping up to open the retail shop. Good news is that we will be replacing it with a new Capannari event – “Ice Cream for Breakfast.” Taking place on Saturday, April 14th from 8:00 – 11:00 am, you’ll be able to top your ice cream scoops with any kind of cereal, fruit, maple syrup, waffles … you name it! Adding to the fun, we highly encourage everyone to wear their pajamas. More details to come as this exciting, new event gets closer.
2018 will have the usual jam-packed fun with over 30 free events. Check them all out on our events page at www.capannaris.com/events/.
Oh and hey, have you met our newest friend, PHIL THE PINT? Phil’s been traveling across the U.S. this winter season and sharing his adventures on Capannari’s social media – Instagram and Facebook. Follow Phil (and us) at: Caps Instagram and Caps Facebook.
Until March 17th, stay warm. We’ll see you in 2 weeks!
Phenomenal flavors! I JUST discovered your place! (was browsing GoldBelly) So rich and flavorful, it’s all I can do to nort eat an entire pint at one sitting!
I suggested to my Yacht Club that they serve your ice cream! The manager says he did contact you….I hope they start serving it. Have you considered marketing ti to Chicagoland country clubs, yacht clubs etc? I think it would be a great niche for a great product.
